The Senior Automation and Data Research Scientist, Cheminformatics Technologies will build and manage the cheminformatics data and automation unit by researching and implementing the latest in data science and automation. She/He will: Become trained and achieve expert user status on the customized MOD platform in collaboration with the SYNTHIA team and a third party company globally regarded for their flow chemistry expertise Ensure up-to-date knowledge of continuous flow technology, synthetic organic chemistry, and machine learning principles Build and manage data sets for machine learning of predictive reaction conditions, proposing and executing on novel scientific ideas in the space of automation and cheminformatics Participate in project teams to complete complex deliverables within stringent timeline and communicate results to key stake-holders Leverage scientific knowledge and develop technology to solve continuous process development challenges and meet project needs Contribute to activities that build upon MilliporeSigma's proprietary knowledge and technology fulfill their value creation potential publishing in patents or primary literature Participate in business development activities and strategic business initiatives as needed Network with Key Opinion Leaders in the Industry to gain insights into current trends and build trust around our technology
Who You Are:
Minimum Requirements PhD degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) that provides knowledge of theories, principles and concepts in organic chemistry Education/Experience in Data Science, Automation, and Cheminformatics A proven track record of successfully solving scientific problems supported by publications and external presentations Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally. Travel may be approximately 10% Graduate level research Publication authorship Presentations at scientific meetings
