Mechanical Drafter 1 year contract San Jose, CA Up to 40 an hour GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Create and edit engineering 3D models and drawings, specifically product component and assembly drawings, using computer-aided drafting CAD tools. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Coordinate with engineering team to detail components and/or assemblies, and to resolve minor design issues. Use drawing views and to depict functional relationships of components and/or assemblies. Implement the requirements of Engineering Change Requests ECR and/or Engineering Change Orders ECO per Divisional Work Instruction DWI and ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Utilize independent judgment to determine if engineering drawings are complete, and comply with industry and Stryker regulations and/or standards. Communicate information effectively to others by telephone, email and/or in person. Analyze information and evaluate results to identify the best solution to resolve issues. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 1 year of experience in Drafting/CAD technology specifically Creo 3.0 Parametric is preferred. A.S. degree in Drafting/CAD technology specifically Pro/Engineer preferred, but not required. Knowledge of geometric dimensional and tolerancing is preferred. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and/or Solidworks is a plus. Basic understanding of the practical application of engineering, including principles, techniques, procedures and equipment for the design and production of a variety of goods. Must be able to prioritize workload and effectively communicate schedule to others. Must be able to use independent judgment to analyze and resolve routine CAD issues. Must be able to use independent judgment to identify strengths and weaknesses of possible solutions. Must be able to review printed materials, including the identification and correction of inconsistencies e.g. in the printed word, appearance, etc. . Effective written communication skills, including the ability to express ideas in writing so others will understand. Effective oral communication skills, including the ability to listen and understand information and ideas expressed through spoken words and sentences. This is sedentary work at a workstation. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, etc
