Arconic is looking for a EH & S Site Lead to join our Arconic Technology Center in New Kensington, PA.

Job Description:
The purpose of the EH & S Site Lead position is to provide leadership, managerial oversight and tactical support by providing technical services, guidance, interpretation and compliance for the environmental, industrial health/hygiene and safety (EH & S) functions for the Arconic Technology Center

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:

Environment:

Develop, implement and maintain programs and processes related to air, water, waste, chemical release, chemical management, PCB management, land management and emergency response to ensure location compliance with all federal, state, local and company environmental regulations.

Prepare federal, state and local permit applications and maintain positive working relationships with regulatory agencies.

Provide technical direction, counseling, and training in environmental areas to R & D employees and contractors involved in environmental programs, field sampling and emissions testing for the site.

Develop, propose, test, record, analyze, report on air, water and solid wastes, and act upon the results.

Provide technical support and guidance to the ATC Emergency Response Team relative to environmental issues and hazardous materials response to ensure proper training, appropriate incident response, and proper equipment.

Provide oversight for effective environmental performance, control and compliance per completion and review of the company's self-assessment auditing tool.

Remain abreast of any proposed environmental regulations to determine impact on ATC operations; communicate and drive course of action in response to changes.

Health / Industrial Hygiene:

Develop, implement and maintain programs and processes related to health / industrial hygiene to ensure location compliance with all federal, state, local and company health regulations to include: ergonomics, ventilation, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, asbestos, RCF, and lead management program).

Develop, review and maintain site health programs and procedures as well as training within these programs (i.e. hazard communication, chemical specific, heat stress, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, ergonomics, etc.)

Provide technical guidance and coaching to ATC leaders and personnel in the fields of industrial hygiene for all phases of facility operations, production and R & D projects

Provide oversight for effective health / industrial hygiene, control and compliance per completion and review of the company's self-assessment auditing tool.

Act as technical expert and primary site designee for reporting under the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), site radiation safety officer (RSO), and Asbestos and Lead programs.

Remain abreast of any proposed health / industrial hygiene regulations to determine impact on ATC operations; communicate and drive course of action in response to changes.

Safety:

Develop, implement and maintain programs and processes related to safety to ensure location compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety regulations (OSHA, Dept of Labor and Industry, NFPA, NEC, IBC, DHA, DOT, etc.)

Provide technical direction, counseling, coaching and training in safety areas to R & D employees and contractors; activities to include: participating and supporting of fatality and serious injury prevention, incident investigation and root cause analysis, assess and recommending controls for safety risks, conducting health and safety walk throughs and Identify, assessing and recommending controls for health and safety risks associated with R & D projects.

Mentoring and supporting the various safety protocol leaders within the R & D organization in deployment of their programs and completion of the Arconic self-assessment auditing tool.

In support of R & D activities and the ATC site infrastructure, high levels of adaptability, learning agility, willingness to influence others, decision making and effective communication is critical.

Remain abreast of any proposed safety regulations to determine impact on ATC operations; communicate and drive course of action in response to changes.

Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education:

Knowledge and understanding of EH & S regulations that impact ATC

Ability to interpret proposed EH & S regulations, assess their potential impact on ATC, and implement systems to insure Site compliance with applicable regulations.

Ability to interface and communicate effectively with personnel from all levels of the company and external regulatory agencies

Capable of understanding site infrastructure, operations and R & D projects to understand impact on EH & S matters

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree; minimum of 5 years of work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or large R & D environment; 5 years experience in an Environment, Health or Safety role; working knowledge of regulatory compliance for environmental, health and/or safety matters.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline (Environmental Science & Engineering, Chemical engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or large R & D environment.

Experience with regulatory compliance, monitoring, measuring and reporting
